VISIT – PREZODE Secretary in Australia - (03/2024)

To discuss further opportunities for France-Australia collaboration on One Health, with a focus on the Pacific region, the Embassy of France to Australia organised a visit of the Secretary of PREZODE. This international initiative, launched by France in 2021 to better prevent emergence of zoonotic diseases, gathers more than 200 members from 50 countries, including Australia and New Zealand.

The Secretary Dr Zeev Noga visited PREZODE members in Australia (CSIRO, the University of Melbourne, the University of Queensland) and engaged with relevant contact points. These included the Australian Chief Veterinary Officer (as well as Victoria’s and Queensland’s CVOs), the Australian Minister of Agriculture (at a luncheon with the Ambassador), the Australian Chief Medical Officer, ACIAR, the Australian Centre for Disease Preparedness, the Biosecurity team at the Melbourne airport…

Dr Noga was also a speaker at a panel organised by AFRAN for FAR in the Future of Health held in Melbourne, alongside other researchers.

During these sessions, Dr Noga presented the initiative and its benefits, as well as how to become a member.
