Dimitri Perrin

Dr Dimitri Perrin is Head of the School of Computer Science at Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and Co-Director of the QUT Centre for Data Science. He is also a Chief Investigator in the Next Generation Graduates Program on Sports Data Science & AI and the Australian Sports Tech Analytics & AI Research (AusiSTAR) Hub. Before joining QUT, he held research fellowships at RIKEN (Japan), Dublin City University (Ireland), and Osaka University (Japan). His research focuses on developing data science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning approaches to analyse and optimise complex systems, with applications spanning computational biology, bioinformatics, biomedical imaging, gene editing, health technologies, and sports analytics. Holding engineering and computing degrees from France, Ireland, and Australia, Dimitri has built an internationally recognised career advancing interdisciplinary research at the intersection of AI, data science, and real-world applications.
