Dear Language Teachers and Friends,
We are excited to invite you and your students to the 2025 Young Language Ambassador Conference—a day dedicated to passionate language learners, cultural exchange and global thinking!
Date: Friday, 8 August 2025
Time: 9:30 AM – 2:30 PM
Location: James Cook University, Townsville Campus (building 25 - ground floor)
Cost: Free!
This year's theme, "Global Communities, Local Voices" celebrates the power of young people to connect global ideas with local impact. Students of all ages (Grade 5 to University level) will have the opportunity to present a 3 to 5 minute LedTalk on a topic they are passionate about—aligned with the conference theme.
What to expect (a fun day of learning): Dynamic guest speakers – from marine scientist to fashion designer, award winning language learners and artists, all with inspiring global experiences Meaningful student-led presentations Networking with like-minded language enthusiasts Light lunch provided (Vegetarian and Gluten-Free options available)
Note: Please bring your own morning tea, a bottle of water and notebook + pen for taking notes. School students must be in school uniform and accompanied by their teacher or equivalent.
