The School of Physics at the University of Sydney is opening a Chair (Professor, level E) position in Nanoscience, following a donation from John Hooke.
The start-up package is equivalent to a consolidator ERC grant and could be negotiated further, depending on the needs of the successful candidate.
We are seeking an outstanding scientist with a sustained record of high-impact research who can also demonstrate excellence in teaching Physics at undergraduate and (post)graduate levels. The successful candidate is expected to be a leading researcher in Nanoscience and to participate and contribute to the School of Physics and the University of Sydney Nano Institute (Sydney Nano) through an innovative research program that will leverage the University strategic investments in nanoscience and nanotechnology.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in the Sydney Nanoscience Hub (SNH) which hosts state-of-the-art research laboratories boasting high-precision specifications for temperature stability, vibration, and electromagnetic interference mitigation.
