Women in French Australia inaugural Seminar Series

The committee of Women in French Australia are delighted to invite you to their inaugural event - the first of a new Women in French seminar series.

Women in French Australia was initiated by and is affiliated with the North American Women in French Association. Its goal is to bring the advantages of Women in French to Australian researchers and to extend this community of scholars working on French and Francophone women authors, feminist literary criticism and gender studies.

The virtual event will take place on Friday 6th November at 5:30pm AEDT, and is free and open to all. Two panels of 3-4 speakers will present for 5 minutes on their work in Women in French. Each panel will be followed by a Q+A session. Finally, there will be a virtual vin d'honneur and discussion of the development of the WIF community.

We are pleased to announce the following speakers:

  • Le sexe ou la tête ? Storytelling as insurrection in Leïla Slimani’s Sexe et mensonges. Dr Joanne Brueton, University of London Institute in Paris
