Wednesday 18 September 2024 at 6pm

at

342A St Kilda Road, Melbourne (previously the French Consulate), in the presence of the Consul-General of France in Australia

The AALITRA Translation Awards 2024 will be presented for the two best translations of a prose text by Chantal Danjou and for the two best translations of a poem by Marilyne Bertoncini. In addition to the Open Section two prizes will be awarded for The Most Outstanding Student Translations of the same texts.

At the ceremony brief presentations will be followed by the awarding of the six prizes and a reading of the winning entries by the prize winners. Awards will be presented by Mme la Consule Générale de France, Australia, and Professor Véronique Duché (Vice-President of ISFAR).

Prizes this year have been generously donated by ISFAR (Institute for the Study of French Australian Relations) for Open Sections, and by The French Embassy in Australia for the two Most Outstanding Student Entries. We are indebted to Future Leaders for their contribution towards air fares for winning contestants.

Heartfelt thanks to the 2024 judges: Dominique Hecq (Coordinating Judge), Frances Egan, Penny Hueston, Brian Nelson
