Inria pilots since 2024 the French Program Agency for digital science and technology (software, algorithms and usages), including the coordination of the research national strategy for Artificial Intelligence since 2018. This mission is organised with key national research players, including Universities, other national research institutes (such as CNRS and CEA), as well as the nine AI-Clusters.
The President Emmanuel Macron has announced on May 5th the launch of Choose France for Science, a program aimed at attracting international researchers. This initiative ambitions to target talented researchers from around the world, highlighting favourable conditions to welcome men and women in France. This initiative includes the AI Faculty program announced in February 2025 during the AI Action Summit organized in Paris.
