Dr MAT VANDERKLIFT

Mat is a scientist within CSIRO Environment and director of the IORA Blue Carbon Hub. His research seeks to enhance our understanding of blue carbon ecosystems and improve the frameworks in which they are managed. He has published on the science of blue carbon and the relevance of international governance and finance frameworks to operationalise blue carbon into climate mitigation and adaptation. He has 25 years of research experience on understanding the factors which control plant growth, and their responses to the way that humans use them in the Indian Ocean, as well as in the Mediterranean and Caribbean Seas.
